Description:
bruiser has reported a vulnerability in NMS DVD Burning SDK ActiveX, which can be exploited by malicious people to potentially compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to the NMSDVDX.DVDEngineX.1 (NMSDVDX.dll) ActiveX control providing the insecure "EnableLog()" and "LogMessage()" methods. This can be exploited to overwrite arbitrary files on the local system via specially crafted arguments passed to the affected methods.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.

Solution:
Set the kill-bit for the affected ActiveX control.
