Description: James Bercegay has reported a vulnerability in UBB.threads, which can be exploited by malicious users to conduct SQL injection attacks.
Input passed to the "Forum[]" array in index.php (when "ubb" is set to "dosearch") is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
Successful exploitation allows e.g. retrieval of passwords, but requires valid user credentials.
The vulnerability is reported in version 7.3.1 downloaded before 2008-09-02 and all previous 7.x versions.
Solution: Update to version 7.3.1 downloaded on or after 2008-09-02.
Apply the vendor's official patch:
