CVE-2008-3944

Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in ACG-PTP, which can be exploited by malicious users to conduct script insertion attacks, and by malicious people to conduct SQL injection attacks.

1) Input passed to the "Category name" form field in Advertisement packages, "Reason" in Credit/Debit users, and "FAQ question" and "FAQ answer" in Add new FAQ entry under FAQ Manager is not properly sanitised before being stored. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which is executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious data is viewed.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability requires that the attacker has valid administrator credentials.

2) Input passed to the "adid" parameter in index.php (when "menu" is set to "adorder") is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability allows e.g. retrieval of usernames and passwords.

The vulnerabilities are reported in version 1.0.6. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised. Grant administrator access to trusted users only.
